Introduction
This policy explains what this site records when you visit, why it records it, and what it never touches. It applies to every page under this domain.
Reading a page here does not require an account, a login, or a name.
Information we collect
Server logs record the usual technical details of a request: an IP address, a browser and operating system string, the page requested, and a timestamp. Those logs exist to keep the site online and to spot abuse.
The contact and newsletter forms on this site are not connected to a mailing system or a database. Nothing typed into them is transmitted or stored, which is why both return an error rather than a thank-you.
No health information is collected here. Do not send a diagnosis, a prescription or clinical details through any field on this site.
Analytics and cookies
A cookie stores your choice on the cookie notice so the notice stops appearing on every page. Analytics scripts may set their own cookies to count visits in aggregate.
Every browser can block or clear cookies from its settings. Blocking them leaves the pages readable; the notice simply returns on each visit.
Third-party links and retailers
Product links lead to retailer pages that run their own tracking, cookies and privacy policies. Once you follow such a link you are on their property and their policy governs, not this one.
Read the retailer's own policy before entering payment or delivery details anywhere.
How the information is used
Aggregate traffic figures show which pages get read and which get skipped, which is how the pages get improved. Nothing here is sold, rented or traded.
Log data is retained only as long as it is useful for security and troubleshooting.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection. No system on the public internet is beyond reach, so treat any web form, here or elsewhere, as unsuitable for sensitive personal or medical detail.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and no information is knowingly collected from them. A parent or guardian who believes a child has submitted information should contact us so it can be removed.
Any decision about an ophthalmic medicine for a child belongs with a pediatrician or an eye specialist.
